A large pond dominated this area, along with a small patio & stretch of grass. It was time to modernise things!
With a growing family & a sunny spot, this area was to be reclaimed for the family to use. A large dining area was created by the kitchen, with a seating area having prime position at the furthest point of the patio to catch the last of the summer sunshine. In order to stop this looking like one large rectangle of paving, the area was subdivided into 3, the middle section being a transition area and so the lawn was brought into the paved area to break up the hard landscaping. The 2 large planting beds are filled with summer perennials that bring in the bees & the butterflies and create a feeling of enclosure whilst sitting on the patio. All that is now required is the sunshine!
