The back garden to this property needed a complete overhaul, the brief was that it had to have a flavour of the South African wine gardens and be friendly to both children and animals and no straight lines!
The inspiration came from the swirl on an Amenonite; black granite setts were used to create that swirl, starting off in the patio circle as a slim line and ending up back in the patio as a thicker sweep. this also allowed a large lawn space as the curves could be pushed back without compromising the Amenonite swirl. Around the main patio wooden posts were added to give a natural feeling of enclosure and add some height. These were interplanted with white roses, as grown in South African wine gardens, and other blue & white perennials to create a country feel.
