Angles & Triangles
The main requirement for this garden was to be able to walk on a hard surface to both the office and the dining table. To accomodate this the pathways were laid at an angle, from the French windows in the house,to the office and dining area. To ensure that the garden did not feel swamped in paving, the paths were laid with grass in between. The design made use of the shapes that were created in the negative spaces and echoed these in the triangular planting beds around the garden. To retain the dynamism of the design some beds were planted with a mix of informal grasses whilst others were planted with static Buxus which, in time, will create 3 dimensional shapes.
