The client wanted to be able to go into the garden and walk a circular, but interesting, route. As lawn was not important, the decision was made to create a gravel garden with a part lawned area.
The gravel garden has a path meandering through it, where plants are allowed to grow freely. Tall grasses allow for movement, noise and structural winter interest.
The path takes you through the gravel and then into the bamboo tunnel before you come out onto the lawn. The lawned area has more traditional beds backed by hedging to create a barrier to the gravel garden. You then arrive back where you started!
