Slate & Steel
The brief was to create a sun terrace & create a more contemporary garden without destroying everything that was already in place. From the French doors a newly laid slate path leads you to the sun terrace. This is surrounded by a semi circular wall that glides skyward, providing all year round architectural interest. The colour blends with the tones of the slate and reflects the blue of the sky. The slate paving was replicated around the house to break up an otherwise plain paved terrace. It also served to link the new sun terrace to the rest of the garden. Steel rings located around the garden are filled with box balls, the box is then echoed in the planters under the window & those edging the terrace.
